About this tool
WebP is a modern image format used by many websites, but some phones, apps and forms still do not accept it. Converting to JPG makes the picture work almost everywhere.
Transparent areas in a WebP image become white, because JPG does not support transparency. Medium quality keeps the picture sharp and the file small.
The conversion happens inside your browser, so your pictures are never uploaded to any server.
Tips and common problems
- Why WebP? Many websites save pictures as WebP because the files are small. Some apps and forms do not accept it.
- Choose High if the picture will be printed, and Medium for sharing.
- Transparent logo? JPG fills see-through areas with white. Keep the WebP or a PNG if you need transparency.
- Many files? Convert 10 to 20 at a time on a phone.
- Need a PNG instead? Open the picture and save it again as PNG, or use PNG to JPG for the other direction.
Common questions
Can I convert many WebP files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like, tap Convert to JPG, then save them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Why is the background white?
WebP can have a transparent background and JPG cannot, so transparent parts are filled with white.
Does converting reduce the quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of detail is lost. High quality keeps it almost unnoticeable.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything runs on your own device and your images are not sent to us.
