Image Resizer

Change the size of your pictures in pixels or by percent. Add one or many images, choose JPG, PNG or WebP, and save them one by one or as a ZIP. Everything happens on your device, so your photos are never uploaded.

Add at least one image to start.

How to resize an image

  1. Choose your images, or drop them on the box.
  2. Type the new width in pixels, or switch to percent (for example 50 for half size). The height changes automatically so the picture is not stretched.
  3. Pick JPG, PNG or WebP and tap Resize images. Save each file or all of them as a ZIP.

About this tool

Large photos from a modern phone can be 4000 pixels wide or more. That is far bigger than most websites, forms and chat apps need, and it makes uploads slow. Making the picture smaller is the quickest way to also make the file smaller.

The height is always worked out from the width, so your picture keeps its shape. By default the tool will not enlarge a small picture, because stretching adds blur but no detail. You can turn that off if you really need a bigger canvas.

Everything runs inside your browser, so your pictures are never uploaded to any server.

Tips and common problems

Common questions

Will resizing make the picture blurry?

Making a picture smaller keeps it sharp. Making it bigger than the original makes it blurry, so the tool does not enlarge by default.

Does the picture get stretched?

No. You choose the width and the height follows, so the picture keeps its proportions.

Can I resize many images at once?

Yes. Add as many as you like, set the size once, and save them one by one or all together as a ZIP.

What is the best size for WhatsApp or email?

A width of about 1280 pixels is good. It looks sharp on phones and keeps the file small.

Are my images uploaded?

No. Everything runs on your own device and your images are not sent to us.
