PNG to JPG
Turn PNG pictures into smaller JPG files that upload everywhere. Convert one or many at once, choose the quality, and save them one by one or as a ZIP. Your images stay on your device the whole time.
Add at least one PNG image to start.
How to convert PNG to JPG
- Choose your PNG images, or drop them on the box.
- Pick the quality you want. Medium is a good balance of size and sharpness.
- Tap Convert to JPG, then save each file or all of them as a ZIP.
About this tool
PNG keeps every detail and supports transparent backgrounds, which makes the files large. Screenshots and photos saved as PNG are often several times bigger than the same picture saved as JPG. Many websites, forms and email limits ask for JPG, so converting is the quickest fix.
JPG does not support transparency, so any see-through area in your PNG is filled with white. If you need to keep a transparent logo, keep the PNG and use the JPG only where a white background is fine.
The conversion happens inside your browser, so your pictures are never uploaded to any server.
Tips and common problems
- Screenshots and photos shrink the most. A PNG screenshot can drop to a fraction of its size as a JPG.
- Logos and text with sharp edges can look slightly softer as JPG. Choose High quality for those, or keep the PNG.
- Transparent background? It will turn white. If you need transparency, do not convert.
- A form still says the file is too big? Choose Low, or make it smaller with the Image Resizer.
- Converting many files on a phone? Do 10 to 20 at a time so the browser does not run out of memory.
Common questions
Why convert PNG to JPG?
JPG files are much smaller for photos and screenshots, and almost every website, app and form accepts them.
Will I lose quality?
JPG is a lossy format, so a small amount of detail is lost. At High quality the difference is hard to see for photos.
What happens to a transparent background?
JPG cannot be transparent, so transparent areas become white.
Can I convert many PNG files at once?
Yes. Add as many as you like, tap Convert to JPG, then save them one by one or all together as a ZIP.
Are my images uploaded?
No. Everything runs on your own device and your images are not sent to us.
